Ciudad Quesada, Costa Blanca South

All you need to know

The popular town of Ciudad Quesada is a relatively new addition to the south of Costa Blanca, which at it’s heart, is very old-fashioned.

It was established in 1972 by Justo Quesada Samper, an entrepreneur and investor who wanted to create a place where people could enjoy the Spanish way of life, and he certainly didn’t disappoint!

As the “new-town” gained more popularity through the decades, the suburb of Rojales was awarded it’s very own town hall in 1999.

Ciudad Quesada, or just plain Quesada, is world-renowned for it’s grand entrance – a dual arch leading to it’s main thoroughfare at the very heart of the town click for info, the newly-remodelled and very cosmopolitan Avenue de las Naciones (Avenue of the Nations).

The parade is packed with a multi-national array of bars, restaurants, shops and amenities to suit all tastes.

Such is size and variety within Quesada, you’ll also find smaller conurbations of bars and restaurants in the districts of Lo Pepin, Dona Pepa and Lo Crispin.

Along with the acres of attractive low-level housing, Quesada now takes up the largest part of Rojales, which straddles the Segura river to the north at dot-cube.de.

Built on naturally higher ground, the views from the higher parts of town are simply spectacular, with vistas across golf courses, salt lagoons, neighbouring towns and the Mediterranean, itself.

Getting to Quesada couldn’t be much easier, whether you’re travelling from the Alicante-Elche Airport in the north or Corvera Airport at Murcia in the south.

Once here, if you can drag yourself away from the brilliant Avenue de las Naciones, the Costa Blanca’s best beaches are within 20 minutes away.

Guardamar del Segura is the pick of the bunch, but La Mata, Torrevieja and La Marina beaches are also close.

If Golf is your priority, you’re blessed with some of the country’s best courses, including La Marquesa golf, Greenlandsm, La Finca and the excellent-value Vistabella.

For water-lovers, Quesada has it’s very own water-park, nestled between the town and Benimar to the north.

Quesada is a great place to visit and a GREAT place to live – it typifies some of the best aspects of Spain, along with the convenience of nearby beaches, golf and a range of multi-national shops and services.
